Sha’Carri Richardson, born March 25, 2000, is a professional track and field athlete. Inspired by her mother’s history as a runner, she started running at the age of 9 and began competing in track races during middle school, achieving success by winning regional and state championships.
In 2019, Richardson turned professional by signing a contract with Nike. Despite being slated to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she was disqualified for testing positive for marijuana, citing its use as a coping mechanism after her mother's passing. In 2023, she made a triumphant return by winning a 100-meter sprint in 10.82 seconds, confidently declaring, "I'm not back, I'm better."
