Host City: Miami

Soccer in Miami has long reflected the city’s rich cultural diversity, with early roots in immigrant communities from Latin America and the Caribbean who brought their passion for the sport. The city’s first major professional team, the Miami Toros, played in the 1970s, followed by the short-lived Miami Fusion in the late 1990s. Miami has remained a hotbed for youth and amateur soccer, with strong local leagues and a growing fan base that kept the sport alive and thriving. The Hard Rock Stadium, Built in 1987 with a capacity of 65,000, has held six Super Bowls, the 2010 Pro Bowl, El Clásico Miami (Real Madrid vs. Barça), and the 2016 Copa América knockout stage. It serves as home to Dolphins, Formula 1, Miami Open tennis, and Inter Miami CF (MLS) co-owned by Beckham. The stadium will host four group matches, one Round of 32, one quarter-final and the bronze final match between 15 June and 18 July 2026.
The modern era of Miami soccer was reignited with the launch of Inter Miami CF in 2020, co-owned by David Beckham. The club quickly became a symbol of the city’s global appeal, drawing international stars and building a loyal following.
