Host City: Houston

The Houston Hurricane of the NASL briefly brought professional soccer to the city in the late 1970s, but it wasn’t until the arrival of the Houston Dynamo in 2006 that the sport truly took root. The Dynamo quickly made an impact, winning back-to-back MLS Cups in 2006 and 2007 and establishing a loyal fan base. The opening of Shell Energy Stadium in 2012 further cemented Houston’s place in the American soccer landscape. The city has hosted many international matches, including Gold Cup games and Copa América Centenario fixtures.

Houston Stadium (NRG Stadium) will host five group matches, one Round of 32, and one Round of 16 match from 14 June to 4 July 2026. Opened in 2002 with a retractable roof, NRG Stadium is famed for its “Bull Pen” section and has hosted six Super Bowls, 2010 Pro Bowl, and the 2016 Copa América Centenario™. It staged MLS All-Star games and USA vs. Mexico internationals, cementing its football pedigree.
