Host City: Boston

The region’s early professional teams, like the Fall River Marksmen and Boston Beacons, helped establish a foundation for the game. With the launch of Major League Soccer in 1996, the New England Revolution became one of the league’s original clubs, playing at Gillette Stadium in nearby Foxborough. The Revs have built a loyal fan base and contributed significantly to the growth of soccer in the region.
The Gillette Stadium will stage five group matches, one Round of 32 and one quarter-final from 13 June to 9 July 2026. Since its 2002 opening, the stadium has hosted FIFA Women’s World Cups (1999, 2003), Copa América Centenario, and the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup final. Before the World Cup, a renovation will install a 22,000-sq-ft HD video board, expand hospitality spaces and improve 360° connectivity.
